We can offer a number of variations on
the itinerary set out below. Please note that this itinerary
is for a coach tour of the Somme. We also offer walking tours
of the Somme which usually take place over 4 or 5 days. For

Travel from your pick up point visiting Vimy Ridge en route
to our hotel in Albert (typically Best Western Hotel)
Visit to Historial de la Grande Guerre in Peronne. The second
part of the day examines the efforts to break through the
German lines south of the Albert/Bapaume road and includes
visits to Delville Wood, High Wood. Mametz Wood, Pozieres,
Lochnagar Crater and Mansell Copse.
The day focuses on the events of July 1st 1916, the most infamous
day in the history of the British Army and begins with a visit
to the newly opened Thiepval Visitors Centre. Other sites
include Ulster Tower, Newfoundland Park, the village of Auchonvillers,
Serre Road and Sheffield Park Memorial, Beaumont Hamel.
