Ypres Salient Background Information
Ypres is a picturesque Belgian town, which during the First World War, was the site of a series of battles that were to be decisive in the outcome of the 'War to End All Wars'.
A predominantly agricultural area today, it is difficult to imagine the suffering and the sacrifice that took place or the horrendous conditions in which men lived and fought in 90 years ago.
Join us for an enlightening and very moving journey, during which we will visit the remains of trenches, Allied and German cemeteries and the award winning 'In Flanders Field' museum and in the process bring to life the actions, the tactics and the strategies of both the Allied and German armies.
"The historical sites were superb - very interesting and very moving and we will return."
Please note We are happy to cater for groups and individuals who wish to walk or cycle the Salient – feel free to contact us for further details. We will also visit specific graves or memorials that might relate to a family member or acquaintance.
Prices from £240.00
